Plunder Scenario 23
As Director, you have one person on staff who is consistently late or absent and takes only the easy procurements. No one has voiced any complaints or concerns, but you notice that the rest of the team is beginning to shun him. What, if anything, should you do?
AP Response:
Begin by conducting one-on-one check-ins with each team member to gauge the overall team dynamic and gather insights. Follow up with a staff meeting to clearly define expectations and reinforce the importance of consistency and accountability.
Keep in mind that there may be valid reasons behind the staff member’s behavior. If you’re unaware of those reasons, take the time to understand them. Also, help the team recognize how one person’s actions can affect others. Remind them that fairness and equity are not always the same—sometimes leadership requires choosing between the two to maintain balance and morale.s.
