You have an employee who was offered a position in another department. She declines the offer and after they hired someone else for the position, she presents the letter to you in attempt to receive a "counter offer". What concerns, if any, do you have and how do you handle this?

We viewed this situation as an opportunity to reinforce the importance of ethics and integrity in the procurement profession. The team member received a written warning to formally address the concern. However, a few months later, when we submitted a performance increase request for the entire staff, we included her as well—demonstrating that while we addressed the issue, we still valued her contributions and potential. She understood our concerns and appreciated that she remained a respected member of the team.
