Plunder Scenario 16
You've awarded multiple contracts (by site) for custodial services at DMVs across the state. One of the sites has been experiencing poor performance for months. The contractor seems unable to cure the problems, but does a wonderful job at a different site. How do you manage this?
AP Response:
Poor performance on a specific contract does not necessarily indicate that a contractor is incapable overall. In some cases, the contractor may simply be unable to meet the unique demands of a particular scope of work.
In this instance, we acknowledged the contractor’s strong performance on other awarded lots and chose not to cancel those. However, due to continued issues at one site, we canceled the contract for that specific location and issued a new Request for Quotes (RFQ) to secure a replacement contractor.
